      great food and cute location

The Bridge & Bayleaf is set in an idyllic location on the banks of the River Trent in the pretty village of Gunthorpe in Nottinghamshire. It is easily accessible by car with plenty of on-site parking.

The food served is of North Indian origin and as well as having all the usual Indian favourites on the menu also offers new and exciting dishes.

I visited this restaurant with 6 other diners and we were made very welcome and the staff made sure we had plenty of room on our table.

After being greeted at the door we were taken outside to enjoy a drink by the river-side, a waitress service was provided and we were given menus to look over while our table was being prepared.

Our table was laid out perfectly with alot of attention to detail that smaller restaurants can afford to make, everything was pristine and all furnishings clean.

I had the lamb rogan josh for my main and although it was abit spicier than usual it was still very tasty and not at all overpowering.

Throughout our meal the waitress checked we had plenty of drinks and was very helpful and polite.

I would visit again as I would like my partner to try the Bridge and Bayleaf special which boasts to be very very spicy!
