We were actually looking for a Wetherspoons that my lying Iphone promised was just around the corner, however we did find The Crispy Cod just behind the main shopping precinct. I really hoped the cod wasn't too crispy, but went in anyway and ordered four lots of fish and chips. Fish and chips at The Crispy Cod cost us around five ... more  ... pounds twenty each. Cod seems to be one of the most expensive things to buy at any chip shop these days, but you certainly got your money's worth. The chips were fresh and tasty without any obvious scrag-ends. Finding a decent fish and chip shop can sometimes be like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Sometimes you can pay well over the odds for the turgid scrag-ends of chips, followed by battered batter, with a little bit of fish somewhere lurking inside. That is why sometimes you just need to chance it and go for broke, which is what we did on our recent trip to Hereford.
