I remember this chip shop from "back in the day" when Rose used to work there, they had the skeleton of a pufferfish and you could see the bloke peeling the spuds in the back. Of course it's all changed now. No more can you see the big kids body popping outside the TSB bank whilst the little kids eat their chips and scraps. The only thing remaining of the original Fry-Inn is the fantastic Map of fishing areas which I've looked at with interest for years now. The Fry-Inn now has everything you could possibly want from a no-nonsense modern chip shop. Kebabs, Scampi, Pies, Scallops....whatever you want at a good price. ... Read the complete review

Well it has a Chester Post Code at least, it’s a bit of a long walk from town otherwise. I am of course talking about the truly fantastic 'Fry Inn' which can be found in Upton-by-Chester (Upton to locals). An independently owned chip shop has true indivual taste and it offers all its services at the lowest price I have ever come across. Offering two portion sizes for chips - I know others do but it is not as if lots do - and all the other pies and meats you would expect - donner kebabs, chicken burgers, beefburgers etc. Has a wide selection of drink cans available (including the great Irn-Bru) and as I have already said low prices.
