You can also choose the type of bean you want, either pinto or black bean. You can then pick your extras; salsa, lettuce, cheese, guacamole and sour cream and the all important sauce. They have three sauces, mild, medium and hot... I can tell you that the hot is not for the faint of heart, I would strongly advise trying out some from the pot on the counter top first! I also find that the strength of the sauce varies between visits, but this is probably because every... more

The Mission Mexican Grill (Oxford): Quick and spicy, just how we like it! (404 words)

The Mission is a fabulous Mexican fast food restaurant with two restaurants in Oxford and one in Reading. The simplest way that I've described this place to friends is that it is a bit like Subway but with Mexican food. They specialise in burritos based on the San Francisco style, but they also serve a fajita style burrito, nachos, and burrito bowls (burrito without the flour tortilla), salad and tacos (the soft tortilla kind not the old el paso kind). Ever since I tried burritos in New Mexico, I have such a weakness for Mexican food. All those spices, the beans, the rice with lime and oregano...I'm drooling just thinking about it now. So it was a bit of a surprise to find quite possibly the best Mexican food in Britain right on my doorstep in Oxford! That's a big claim, I know. But I promise you, if you live in Oxford or ever get the chance to go (I do recommend it, but that's another review, I think!) get down to the Mission and try their amazingly good food. So what is The Mission? Well, it's basically a Mexican fast-food place - it's modelled on the American chain Chipotle, which serves fresh Mexican ...  Read the complete review
