The Mission Mexican Grill (Oxford) Reviews

Newest Review: ... burritos are made up with rice to start. You pick your meat, you can choose from roasted shredded chicken, carnitas (slow roasted pork with specialist seasoning) or steak. You can also choose the type of bean you want, either pinto or black bean. You can then pick your extras; salsa, lettuce, cheese, guacamole and sour cream and the all important sauce. They have three sauces, mild, medium and hot... I can tell you that the hot is not for the faint of heart, I would strongly advise trying out some from the pot on the counter top first! The Mission is a fabulous Mexican fast food restaurant with two restaurants in Oxford and one in Reading. The simplest way that I've described this place to friends is that it is a bit like Subway but with Mexican food. They specialise in burritos based on the San Francisco style, but they also serve a fajita style burrito, nachos, and burrito bowls (burrito without the flour tortilla), salad and tacos (the soft tortilla kind not the old el paso kind). So it was a bit of a surprise to find quite possibly the best Mexican food in Britain right on my doorstep in Oxford! That's a big claim, I know. But I promise you, if you live in Oxford or ever get the chance to go (I do recommend it, but that's another review, I think!) get down to the Mission and try their amazingly good food. So what is The Mission? Well, it's basically a Mexican fast-food place - it's modelled on the American chain Chipotle, which serves fresh Mexican ... Read the complete review
