The Peacock Inn in Kings Norton is a pub I've been going to since I was a child; it's a small out-of-the-way place, at one time it was primarily a drinking pub (albeit a gorgeously gentrified one) but over the last few years has had a total revamp and is now a rather upper class eatery. I usually go with my mum (rock n' roll) at lunchtime and have been several times over the past few months. My favourite meal by far is the Surf & Turf which is a delicious steak and king prawn combination, served with chips and a tiny salad. We used to go to The Peacock years ago, it's set just outside Kings Norton in Birmingham and is along a country lane with a large picnic area opposite so it always feels like a quiet country pub. It used to anyway, I was gobsmacked when I went back last week to find that it's turned from a reasonably priced pub to a mega expensive restaurant. We only went because my mum had a voucher come through the post which gave her 2 meals for the price of one so me and her went after we'd been shopping.
