Tasty food, good prices and relaxing surroundings.

The Riverhill hotel and Baytree restaurant. I have been to this restaurant a dozen times and will continue to do so. I have never had a bad meal or received poor service. If you're in the area try it, you will not be disappointed. The Hotel is situated in its own beautiful grounds in a quiet residential location of Oxton, yet conveniently located for public transport to Liverpool and just 5 minutes to the Birkenhead Tunnel and major motorway network. Parking is up a steep drive and can be a little tight when the hotel and restaurant are running at full capacity. As you enter the reception you are greeted and directed to the cocktail lounge, where your wait is very comfortable in black leather chairs / sofas. You can relax with an aperitif before dinner. The restaurant manager will bring you the menu and when your meal is almost ready you are directed to your table. After your meal you can go back into the cocktail lounge and enjoy your coffee or liqueurs and mints or choc's, depending on the occasion. The restaurant is open daily for dinner to both guests and non-residents and on Sundays they serve a traditional Sunday lunch. Capacity of the restaurant is about 70. MEALS You have a choice of à la carte and table d'hôte menus which are complemented by a wine list offering good quality wines, from the inexpensive to the more exclusive. A Dinner menu is Three Courses served from Monday to Friday and costs £18.95. Saturday is naturally dearer and will cost £20.95. The À La Carte Menu is of course all individually priced Sunday lunch is again three courses costing £15.95. I have had 2 Christmas meals here, last year on Christmas Eve (I was working my 12 hour shifts on Christmas and Boxing Day!). And the year before we had our Christmas dinner actually on Christmas day. Christmas Eve cost £25 per head and Christmas day was a whopping £90 per head, the food was delish. Valentines night costs £30 per head. BEDROOMS There are 15/16 luxury bedrooms all ensuite. Each room has of course, television, direct dial telephone, hot drinks facilities, trouser press and hair drier. For those special occasions, the RiverHill Hotel also offers 2 bridal suites complete with four-poster beds, finishing with a champagne breakfast to ensure a memorable occasion. HOTEL RATES Single rooms are from £55 to £65 dependant on the day you stay. Double room £80 to £90 Bridal suites £125 to £160 NEAR BY FACILITIES Golf, Wirral ladies golf course is a 10 minute walk away. A little further away is the Royal Liverpool Golf Club, Heswall and Caldy Golf Clubs are a car ride away. Wallasey Golf Club is another coastal course. Inland courses include Eastham Lodge, Prenton and Bidston. Municipal courses include Arrowe Park, Brackenwood, Hoylake and the nine hole Warren course in Wallasey. And still further away still there are art galleries, museums, and historic landmarks which include: The Heritage Centre of Port Sunlight The Williamson Art Gallery and Museum The Ellesmere Port Boat Museum Birkenhead Park - the first public park in the World. The World Heritage Site of Liverpool's waterfront The Albert Dock in Liverpool provides an enjoyable day out, being the second-most popular attraction in Great Britain, offering the Maritime Museum, Tate Gallery, the Beatles Story, Animation World and scores of shops, bars, restaurants and cafés.
