Three crowns is a pub/restaurant located in chippenham close to swindon. Its one of my favourite places in Wiltshire to eat out on special occasions. The pub serves a big selection of really tasty exotic meats like crocodile, venison, ostrich and kangaroo! if you are into that. My personal favourite is the half duck served with redcurrent jelly/cream sauce and topped with mouth watering fresh english strawberries and finished with a dessert of homemade strawberries with melt in your mouth champagne ice cream. yummy!!! definitely worth trying!! ( For those who are not keen on meat) There are also an assortment of fishes freshly caught and cooked to order on the day. The dishes come served with a selection of at least 6 fresh vegetables. The prices are pretty modest for the good quality fresh food you are getting plus the fact that you go away with a full stomach. The average price of a main dish is £18 and desserts are £6. I wouldn`t recommend getting a starter- you won`t be able to eat the main and dessert! I would advise to book a table if your are going to visit for a special occasion as it does tend to get busy. If you are in the area it is definetly worth visiting or even making a special trip for.
