I've always quite liked the Waterguard. It's a sweet little pub at Cardiff Bay. There are lots of fancy bars and restaurants in Cardiff Bay and it can get pretty busy on a nice day. The nicest thing about the Waterguard is that it is situated on the other side of Mermaid Quay from all the other busy bars and restaurants. It is quiet and relaxed in comparison. The bar is stylish yet cosy and traditional. It has some nice beer on tap and some more unusual drink brands which makes a nice change.
