Tiger lils is brilliant.
Situated on the lower end of the kings road in Chelsea it's a little gem hidden away far from prying eyes - which is perfect or you would never be able to book a table (though this has changed a bit now with a new branch opened in Bayswater)
The basic premise for Tiger Lils is an eat as much as you can buffet with a difference. There is no menu. Everyone has the same thing. You get your plate and walk over to a counter stacked with raw vegetables and meats. You help yourself to what ever you want and wait patiently in line. Then you hand your plate over to the cooks and they stirfry the food right there in front of you. You get to choose your sauce (from around 8 different choices), seasonings and whether you want noodles or not. Not opting for noodles means you get rice instead - which is included in the price.
All the food is fresh and as soon an item looks like its about to run out a whole new tray is brought out. Vegetable wise the place is a veggie heaven. Having a few veggie mates its always difficult to strike a balance to keep everyone happy, Tiger Lils achieves this very easily as you choose what goes onto your plates. As well as this veggies are given different plates just to make them feel even more at ease!
The food itself tastes brilliant. Its always hot and tastes so good (pineapple and chicken in black bean sauce with noodles is amazing!) You get sorely tempted to go up even when full just to try the rest of the sauces the foods cooked in, that's the benefit of eat as much as you want I guess!
The best bit is that if you don't like the food you can simply tip it away and start again. FANTASTIC!
The place is always buzzing and the atmosphere is excellent. Staff are extremely friendly, and the cocktail menu is very different, as are the juices they do. A great place for parties' etc, but be warned make sure you book well in advance for large g
roups.
Price wise the menu is fixed at £11.95, but with drinks and prawn crackers it should top more then £18 per person, which is excellent considering you can eat non-stop till you burst.
A place not many know about, but those who do keep returning again and again.
(and by the way on the way to the toilets have a look at yourself in the mirrors ... very funny)
