A Wicked Meal That's Dirt Cheap

My dad works in Coventry sometimes and when he does I go with him sometimes and have a mooch around while he works, this is what happened last week when me and a couple of my mates got in the car with him and because he was only going to be a couple of hours he kindly offered to drop us at the pub and must have been feeling generous because he gave me 50 quid to treat us all! lol Not knowing many pubs in Coventry as we passed a Toby Carvery in Binley I asked him to drop us there and we'd have a nice meal and a few drinks while we waited for him.

The pub is on Brinklow Road and that's about 5 miles outside the city centre, there is a good sized car park and from the outside the Toby Carvery looks like it's been well looked after and is clean.

We all had the basic carvery meal, there is a vegetarian option and a small range of other meals are available if you're not in the mood for a full roast dinner. The carvery costs £5.25 in the daytime and that goes up to about £7.00 in the evening and on a Sunday.

You get a choice of gammon, turkey and beef or you can have all 3 meats like I did. The chef serves the meat and he asked if we wanted yorkshire pudding and stuffing..... stupid question, of course we did! lol After you've got your meat you move along and help yourself to the vegetables and potatoes.

There was quite a big choice of vegetables and there was hardly enough room on my plate for me to have everything I wanted! lol If you go on a Sunday there are roast parsnips and pork cracking to choose as well but we went on a weekday lunch time so it was just the basic selection.... I say basic but it was stilll a massive choice! I can't remember EVERYTHING I had on my plate because there was so much but there were definately peas, green beans, something that looked like parsnip mash, cauliflower cheese, sweetcorn, roasted onions and cabbage plus boiled and roast potatoes.

Everything was cooked wicked and the roasters were delish with a crunchy outside and fluffy inside. You can pick from beef, chicken or vegetarian gravy..... I had the beef one and it was delish and went proper nice with the meal and there are also about 6 choices of sauce to choose from like mustard, cranberry sauce, horseradish sauce and things like that.

You can go back up as many times as you want for vegetables but you can only have 1 serving of the meat so make sure you get as much as you want the first time you go up.

Recommended...... a wicked and mega filling meal for £5.25!!! Bargain!!
