Advantages: Cheap roast in the week, nice setting

Disadvantages: Sometimes cold if you go in to get the cheap roast, staff a bit slow sometime

Ahh toby carvery.. My fav place to grab a cheap roast in the week!

We go to the toby in bishopstoke, eastleigh in hampshire..

Its a nice pub right on the river which makes it a lovely setting in the summer to sit outside with your carvery (if you can deal with fighting off the flies of course)

In the weekday before 6.30pm you can grab a carvery for a fiver.. most of the time if you go in before 6.30pm though you will find certain veg is sometimes a bit cold and potatos been sat there for a while.. but i think it just depends on how busy it is etc.. but the meat is always nice so i have no complaints.

If you go in after 6.30pm or on a sunday (GOOD LUCK!) Its usually jam packed and they will ask you to wait for a seat.. which is fine in the summer because you can quite happily sit outside with a pint and a glass of wine but in the winter its not fun if their tiny bar is busy..

All in all the food is usually very nice and quite a bargain really..

The only thing i find with our local one which often makes us laugh is the staff are a bit "dippy" lol.
