Today (Monday 3rd August) Friend and myself went to above carvery at about 12.10.pm about 40+ party had arrived without a booking and the restaurant was in a flap! Waitress was fine and sorted out a table and glass of wine and then we waited and waited - my friend is partially disabled and to stand in a long line would not be possible for her and so we reluctantly agreed to ditch our glass of wine pay the bill and go off to the carvery in Buckhurst Hill. The manager who had been flapping about could not help us to do this and told us to find our waitress as he couldn't help (could he not have found a waitress for us?????) I had heard him say the same thing to some other customers "he coudn't help" just to wait!!!!! Surely a good manager would sort out the problem? Lucky for me another helpful waitress sorted us out whilst the manager ignored us and waffled on the phone). I would just mention that the food looked good - but yet again the plates were cold - bad news - so easy to put right but not attended to.
Buckhurst Hill was fine with a splendid carvery and wonderfully hot plates - its all in the detail - the service was also good we will go back to Buckhurst Hill but will steer clear of The Eagle.
