Advantages: You won't be ripped off

I have not been to Toby for a while now so forgive me if it has improved. The one I used to go to quite regularly, about once every 2 weeks was in Ewell, Surrey. The main reasons why we stopped going are:

Carvery didn't always have a great deal of vegetables.
The restaurant often gets very busy and service is slow
The waitress was not very polite when asking for ID when I wanted a drink
Once there was somebody drinking the gravy directly from the bowl! The staff brought out a fresh bowl straight away, but really, the person's carer and staff should have prevented this from happening as it's so unhygenic!

Also the meat is sometimes a bit dry. They used to have a deal on, I think it was 2 courses for £7 which is quite good value, but you had to go before a certain time, it may have been as early as 5pm.

Overall, the food is reasonable, but don't be expecting too much!

Summary: Dont expect to be rushing back!
