Excellent first time lunch at the TOBY Red Lion in Barnet. its 20 years since we gave this a try.
Excellent decor and greeting in the pub/restaurant filled with 50's-60's couples etc.
Excellent meal all warm/hot and good veg quality. And parking! Good service and pleasent Chef. All this for a fiver!
I was very impressed, my elderly mum thought the food a little cold but this was after 30 minutes of eating it.

The Toby Carvery, Hinton As the idionm goes "Never judge a book by its cover". Well when the paints peeling off the restaurant wecome sign and the front of the building and several of the bulbs lighting the fascia need replacing its pretty easy to think you've made a mistake picking this place for dinner. went to the Toby carvery at the White House in Enfield at the end of August this year. I've been to this place on numerous occasions and actually had a christmas day meal there last year, and have never had any problems before. There was a large group of us and we had arranged to meet up in there. We were shown to a table and the service was ... Read the complete review

This review is based on the Toby Carvery at Rooley Lane in Bradford, where I have just come back from after eating far too much! This was my first time at a Tobey Carvery and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. We decided to go for lunch there today with our neighbours and their little girl, along with our 2 daughters aged ... Read the complete review

This is something i've only recently got into but I have to say the Toby Carvery is a fine chain of restaurants that do provide good food at great value. From Monday to Saturday at lunchtime you can have a carvery meal for £5, you can have beef, gammon or turkey. On Sundays the Roast carvery costs £7.50. Toby Carverys are set out as ... I made my first visit to Toby Cavery last week when I took my parents there as a treat for Sunday lunch. I'm not a huge fan of roast dinners like these as much these days, but that's probably because I ate them so much when I was younger (minus the veggies!) but I knew my parents would like it. ... This review will focus on Toby Carvery in Croydon, South London. This is the only one I have visited, so I couldn't tell you if they are all of the same standard. The restaurant itself is made up of a seated restaurant area, a bar and space to just have drinks, and there are guest rooms upstairs. Despite being part of a chain, I feel ... I have not been to Toby for a while now so forgive me if it has improved. The one I used to go to quite regularly, about once every 2 weeks was in Ewell, Surrey. The main reasons why we stopped going are: Carvery didn't always have a great deal of vegetables. The restaurant often gets very busy and service is slow The waitress ... Read the complete review

Toby Carvery is a great idea and it is such an easy option for a healthy meal for the whole family. They have chains all over the country and pubs are usually large with plenty of tables. This pub sells mostly carvery food. They have 2 options - eating before 7 pm for £5 or after 7pm for £7.50. Before 7pm - choice of 3 meats ... Read the complete review

The Toby carvery is a simple pub/carvery restaurant which is typically simple Sunday roast style dinners. My personal experiences of the Toby Carvery have typically been quite good, you usually find your needs met by the staff, however when the restaurant is quite busy you may find yourself waiting quite some time before you receive ... I love traditional English food, and Sunday lunch has got to be one of my favourites, although as much as I like it, I don't cook them too often so when my other half suggests that we should go out for Sunday lunch, I get excited and my mouth starts to water. He isn't a lover of Sunday lunch and doesn't necessarily have a roast however when you go ... Read the complete review

Like all other restaurant chains Toby Carverys face the same problem, some are extrememly good and others are absolutely dreadful. My partner visited one in Coventry (Binley Inn) only a month or so before she moved down to Plymouth (August 2008), and our last flat was literally less than 1/4 mile from the Toby Carvery at the George ... Me and my family went to the Toby Carvery for our lunch one weekday lunchtime, I knew that my sister has been a few times and thought it was nice and good value, so on her recommendation we decided to try it. I love Toby Carvery. There is one fairly local to me and I have decided that I just don't go enough. It is a great thing to do on a Sunday as your one and only meal because if you go for a carvery, you will eat so much (if you're like me) as you can pile on as much food as you like on your plate. For about £8 you can get a carvery meal ... Read the complete review
