      Love this place!

Of late I have stop eating so many takeaways. I have to admit that up until recently both me and my mate (Lexicrazy on here) lived on junk food but she's worried about her weight and I was gaining as well as getting very poor indeed. We loved nothing more than lazing about in front of a dvd with a big meal delivered or going to a pub but we've stopped, we both have kitchens after all lol.

So far we haven't eaten out or grabbed a takeaway in a good two weeks, amazing for us believe me. This place which I had heard local people talking about often and Liz had driven past it and us deeming it to be quite healthy decided one day to grab our lunch from here thinking it was possibly a better option for our diets.

      The Place:

Tokyo Wok is tucked up a little side street in the town centre. There are no places to park and we do have a problem on that score. You can eat in at their benches if you want to and there are plenty of places dotted outside to go sit too if you want to as well.

The place is very clean, the staff very young but they're smartly dressed and very professional and ordering your food just couldn't' be anymore simpler than what it is as options are limited.

Basically there are boards behind the bar where you order your food from and of course there is a menu on the window and little menu cards as well. First off pick whether you want to have egg noodles, fine egg noodles, Udon noodles (extra thick noodles, I know cos I asked lol), whole grain rice or a veggie box (broccoli, mushroom, baby corn, mixed peppers & beansprouts) and this is the starting point for your meal and the price no matter what you choose is £3.20. On the next board to these options you choose what to have with that and you can choose from beef, chicken breast, pork, prawns, broccoli, baby corn, cashew nuts, mushrooms, mixed peppers, pineapple, pak choi or roasted peanuts and of course if your willing to pay extra you have as many of those items added to your meal. The added nuts will cost 40p as an example and the beef is £1.60 (the most expensive option) and thats on top of your noodles, rice or vegetable initial option of course. Then you can choose a sauce (or not if you prefer) and this is the free bit and they add it to your food for your you. You can choose from teriyaki, sweet & sour, curry coconut, sweet chilli, oyster, Chinese curry, mandarin, peanut satay and bbq sauce. When we went my mate had noodles, chicken and sweet chilli sauce and I had noodles with prawn and peanut satay sauce.

There are a few a couple of side dishes to choose from such as 8 veggie springs rolls for £2.00, chicken toast £2.65, extra sauce in a pot is 70p and cans of pop start at about 70p and there is a large array of those to choose from.

The food comes in a cardboard white box which is quite large and looks quite trendy with Tokyo Wok written on the outside you then grab a fork or chopsticks and can eat in or our with no extra charge.

The cafe seating area is very clean, bright and modern. I did use the toilets in there and they were clean and spacious and there was nice music playing throughout that wasn't too intrusive.

      The Food:

Amazing, I kid you not. The food was hot, I watched it being cooked and I ate noodles for my lunch and finished them off for tea there was so much food! I watched it being cooked in seconds and was impressed that although the prawns are not advertised as king they certainly were and tasted really fresh and I had 11 huge ones in my meal. My sauce was tasty, my noodles yummy and my mate was so jealous of my choice. She wasn't so keen on hers as she made a bit of a mistake with the sweet chilli sauce in her opinion and I ended up finishing hers off along with my own for me tea and I loved those as well.

This works out at around about £5.50 a head and me, well I think its very worth that price. The food isn't greasy or stodgy and its prepared with care. I'm impressed with the portion sizes and like the fact I don't have to pay extra should I want to eat in and this in Weston Super Mare is where the cool kids are hanging out for a takeaway with a difference!

The place is open from 10.30am 10.30 Monday - Thursday and an hour later on a Friday and Saturday night. You can get food delivered in Weston and that costs £1.50 on top of your food for within 3 miles and the minimum order is a tenner. Debit and credit cards accepted.
