The walls are plastered with anti meat eating propaganda such as slogans stating that 'Meat is Murder' as well as various posters explaining the health benefits of Vegetarianism and Veganism. I have taken several meat eaters to dine here though and they haven been put off so far. The staff are friendly and helpful and I am always made to feel welcome at Indian Veg. Now for the best bit - the food. Indian Veg is a buffet only restaurant serving traditional Gujarati Curries. This is a review of my favorite Vegetarian eatery in Islington - Indian Veg. Indian Veg is located on Chapel Market, just off Liverpool Road N1 next door to the elbow rooms. I use the term 'eatery' as opposed to restaurant as this isn't the type of place you would bring someone you were trying to impress, but don't let that put you off as first impressions can be deceiving. It is a fairly small space with no delusions of grandeur. One of my favourite eating places at the Angel, Islington is an Indian vegetarian restaurant called Ravi Shankars. The restaurant itself is small, neat and tidy, clean but not fussy, in that the decor is very plain, beech laminate flooring and beech effect furniture. You walk in, you are shown to a table and then it is all down to you! You get up and go to the front of the restaurant where there are two tables set up with 6 large pans of food, 3 different veggie curries, usually a spinach and potato one, another with mushrooms, corn, peas etc. and the 3rd is usually aubergine, courgette etc. There will be a pan of battered deep fried fritter ...
