      Amazing place for Veggies, Vegans and meat eaters!

      If we are talking vegetarian restaurants then this one is by far the best in my opinion! OK so it's mega expensive and it is in Marlybone but it is definitely worth a visit.

      Eat and Two Veg, brilliant name, is a totally unpretentious vegetarian restaurant that has a classic diner feel to it with bright colours and booth seats (very comfy high backed seated booths giving great privacy). It is situated inbetween Regents Park Station and Baker Street Station and is really easy to find and get to from either of those stations (about a 5 minute walk from each). The address is 50 Marylebone High Street, London W1U 5HN and there contact details are as follows;

      I went here in the spring of this year for the first time ever and have been back about 8 times in total. The menu is varied enough to suit Vegetarians, Vegans and meat eaters (although there is no meat on the menu, I have been with fussy meat eaters who have enjoyed completely their meat substitutes and have since gone again). If you like gourmet then this is very good, ethically prepared and locally grown where possible but has all the common charms of a dinner or greasy spoon. For example you can order burger and chips with onion rings etc but what you get is not the soggy sad looking freezer rubbish you get at other places, even the side salad has been prepared with some attention to detail and skill. I have had several things on the menu and would recommend all of it highly but especially the Schnitzel (obviously not real but meat substitute) with the delicious creamy green sauce that comes with it. I think the sauce is wine and spinach. Amazing. The rest of the meals have all been really filling, really well prepared and varied enough to suit most tastes.

      The desert menu is lovely and varied and the teas are a talking point as they come in a clear glass mug and the one I had (mint) looked like a work of art with real fresh mint leaves floating around, a cinnamon stick nicely placed sticking out of it and little ginger biscuits around the side. Delicious! The smoothies are amazing all of them, milk, milk substitute and pure fruit hard to say which is the best! I would recommend the Strawberry and Apple especially on a hot day. In one sitting I ordered 3! They are fat free as they are pure fruit and they taste as though they are completely forbidden!

      The meals can be quite pricey because you want to order so many things to try that sound exciting but actually you can get a starter from around £3.25, a main at around £8 and a desert from £4 so it is really not all that bad. Because there is so much on the menu, the prices can go up to higher amounts for certain things. Just to give you an idea of the variety on offer from their menu, they have a breakfast menu, a lunch menu a main and a desert. There are plenty of sandwhich, burger, salad and side order options as well as 'to share' and main meal options. it really does take a long time to look through the selection but if you are a vegetarian you will not get over the shock of being able to look at everything...EVERYTHING! on the menu! Amazing thrill that has stayed with me everytime that I go and if you are ethically concerned then a lot of there dairy items do specify that they are free range where possible! Bonus.

      The staff are not snooty and are very warm and accomodating, making you forget that you are somewhere near Baker Street and this for me is a really nice touch as I don't like to feel as though I am uncomfortable when I am in a restaurant.

      You can call and book if you are going for a party or for a special occasion and I would really recommend the booth seats (no more than 4 people) as they are really cozy. The staff are helpful on the phone as well as in person and I would almost guarantee a great time to be had by all!!
