Advantages: Quick service, amazing food and
Disadvantages: You feel a fool if you can't eat with chopstick... don't worry though, knife and fork provided!
I live in Bournemouth, so I am lucky enough to have a Wagamamas right on my doorstep. Consequently, it has become one of my favourite places to eat. The atmosphere is always friendly and welcoming and the food is just delicious!
*The Menu*
The cuisine is oriental, mainly thai and japanese with curries and noodles. There is so much choice! There are some very spicy dishes which are not for the faint hearted. There are some milder dishes too. It is not a restaurant that is suitable for vegetarians, as most of what is available is fish, chicken and other meats, but there are a few vegetable stirfrys that are brilliant. There are many starters, mains and puddings to make up a very big meal. My favourte meal happens to be the Chicken Katsu Curry, which is a very amazing curry, with a fantastic sauce, battered chicken and a mound of sticky rice... And the drinks! Well some of them are just fantastic, assuming that you are adventurous enough to try =]
*The Service*
I can't speak for every Wagamamas, but the one in Bournemouth has great service! You can eat in or take out, but whichever you choose, you always get a smile and a great personality checking that you are okay. It will seem mad, but I am actually quite friendly with a number of the staff in the one in Bournemouth. Sure, this may be because they get half of their income from me and my tight-knit group of friends, but they are genuinely lovely. The food is always served really quickly and it is always hot. Wagamamas never fails to deliver top food.
*The Environment*
As you enter, the smell of oriental cuisine is almost overpowering, but you surrender entirely to it as the scents tantalise your desire for food. There are a number of very long tables that you get placed at with wooden benches. You end up sitting next to strangers sometimes, but that's what I love, it seems so casual, plus you can end up coversin with brand new lovely people. You can see the chefs cooking in the kitchen which is great and the atmosphere is lively and happy.
*Dress Code*
Anything goes =] If you've come out for a nice meal then you will not look out of place if you have dressed up. However, i you are just out for lunch, or a casual evening with your friends, jeans and a band-tee work fantastically. It's generally relaxed.
*Price*
The prices are reasonable. You're looking at between £6-£10 for a main meal. The more expensive meals are those with expensive fish, the chicken and vegetable dishes tend to be at the cheaper end of the scale. Meals for children are a lot cheaper, as they are slightly smaller versions of the bigger meals. For the quality of the food and the amount, the pricing is very reasonable.
They will assure you a good meal out.
Summary: Wagamamas is good for any age or appetite!
