Called in on Father's day, had to pay a car park fee which was deducted from your bill. This restuarant was brilliant 45 years ago, it is now tired with staff who have obviously no experience of catering. had to wait 30 mins for a table in dinning area and then a further 35 mins for food that had become cold, congealed and unedible. I ate only the tomato, which was excellent, the rest of our group attempted to eat their meals, but gave up on the tinned mushrooms which had undergone some heating and cooling process. On leaving I was given unanimious support from our party that the food was terrible but would not admit earlier in case I 'went off on one' Avoid, I have to give a star rating to submit this review, I give ZERO but the minimumm I must give is 1Churwellboy

after going to the white bear for 32 years plus, last night was the worst. It has gone down hill at a fast speed we thought we would give it another try as it is under new management but the chef can even ruin a sandwich the soup was ok but who wants quartered tomatoes in a sandwich and chicken skewers in chunks with mayo the bread was two days old and the filling was all lettuce not cheese had to wait 40 mins for an uneatable food when the restaurant was empty ( I wonder why) The sandwich did not come pre prepared they must have had to make it, my 5 year old grandson makes a better sandwich and also the staff are fighting a loosing battle Even ... We went for a family meal on Saturday 20 November 2010 (to remember my Grandad who sadly passed away 3 years ago) and they had hardly any drinks - I thought this was supposed to be a pub.We waited over 35 minutes for 3 combo starters and 1 bowl of soup - all the combo starters were completely different and 2 of the items listed were missing (nobody knew what was going on), garlic bread was frozen. 10 minutes after the combos arrived we received a cold bowl of soup (which wasn't the soup we had ordered). We asked to see the manager/manageress 20 minutes later she walked over and very rudely said "whats your problem" - I actually wanted to say "well actually you are now" we asked for a refund and left, we will never visit this so called pub again.

The white bear, set on the outskirts of leeds and wakefield near tingley, just after the m62 junction. For an all round good meal, whether its a romantic meal for two or a family evening out,the white bears for all. Three course meals for £15, childs meals for £5 or less lots of different meals available from their regularly updated menu. Steaks are a specialty, sirloin or rump in different weights done to your liking, all waiter service, good choice of wines and beers. A good country type restaurant on the city outskirts, well worth a visit. ... Read the complete review

Freshly cooked quality food . Excellent Service . Good all - round facilities in the store.
Prices higher than you might normally expect for an in - store eating place .
Not a fan of the school canteen dining
Nice enough food with reasonably generous portions. Discount vouchers fairly prevalent.
Stressed manager. Empty pepper-pots. Poor online reservation system.
