Been here twice. 1st time - Carvery = Wasn't bad but nothing to should about except large portions. 2nd time - Indonesian platter = Four dishes that all tasted bad. As soon as I put a prawn on my mouth it tasted rancid and I spat it out. The next day I was crippled with FOOD POISONING and then missed two days from ... Read the complete review

justice system in this country is slow to stop, so when you actually read between the lines, these offences were committed over 12 months ago. The place wouldn't be open now if the authorities involved had decreed the place still unfit for purpose. i've enjoyed meals there for many years, and with my constitution I can soon tell you if there is something wrong there. I've never had a problem there. The food is excellent, the menu is huge as is the bill but you get what you pay for. The service is excellent too, so dont let this bad press put you off, chances are if you go early enough on Friday evening you could get a table quicker than usual because of the article, more fool those who stay away.

I read the review about the Yorkshire Evening Post article and as I was about to attend a birthday dinner here, was concerned that the wrong venue had been chosen. The host of the party had also read the YEP article and had phoned the Swan for reassurance. It turns out that this offence was committed over a year ago and had only just ... best restaurant for steaks although the chips could be home made and not frozen. sometimes it does take a while to get a table but once you get seated the speed of the meals to get to you is quick. All the staff are very friendly and courteus.Downside the toilets could do to be kept cleaner especially when it is busy.Perhaps an attendant could be employed?

Have always loved the swan, UNTIL NOW THAT IS!!!! we went last saturday. got there for 7pm with a group of 6,had to wait til gone 9 before even being acknowledged, then after asking the gentleman taking the table bookings we waited a further 25 mins for our table, then once seated nobody came to take an order for over half an hour even when we asked for someone to come? once ordered food then took 45 mins to come, food was nice, but service was SHOCKING!! gentleman taking table bookings was clearly intoxicated and unable to string a sentence together never mind address our concerns. We have always raved about the Swan and over the years have spent a lot of money there, but NEVER again. what a shame its clearly going downhill

To say the White Swan in Aberford has a menu which is extensive is a bit like saying the Atlantic is a fairly big ocean. In the realms of enjoyable, filling and varied evenings out in the country, this homely pub is hard to beat. Aberford is neatly situated between Leeds and York, just outside the picturesque village of ... Read the complete review
