Whoosh down to Whoosh!

Advantages: Quick, tasty, fresh food
Disadvantages: Not much room to sit in
Whoosh is a new experience in dining. It's menu is a combination of Thai, Lao and Vietnamese street food and it combines fresh and tasty ingredients with fast food. Not knowing much about Vietnamese cuisine, I was curious so my friend and I went to investigate it one day.
Whoosh is located on Bell House Lane in Coleraine. We weren't sure exactly where it was, but I parked in The Mall car park and it's visible from there. If you're walking, it's down the street just across from Superdrug.
There isn't a wide selection of food available, but what you do get is fresh. Most items on the menu are gluten free and vegetarian versions of all the dishes are available. The menu includes:
Vietnamese Summer Rolls (Grilled chicken, Tiger Prawn or Grilled Beef mixed salad and thin rice noodles wrapped in rice paper. Served with a chilli & lime dip).
Thai Spicy Beef Salad (Grilled beef in a spicy dressing of lime juice, fresh herbs and red chillies on a bed of crispy salad).
Chicken Satay Skewers & Peanut Sauce (Chicken served with Thai fragrant steamed rice, mixed salad and a peanut sauce).
Thai Green Curry (a blend of fresh Thai herbs & spices, green chillies and coconut milk, served with Thai rice).
Chilli & Lemongrass Beef Stir-Fry (marinated steak served with steamed Jasmine Rice).
When we went, I chose the chicken satay, white rice and salad, as satay is one of my favourite foods. It arrived within 5 minutes, piping hot and in a very cute takeout style container. My friend's arrived a few seconds later in similar packaging. My chicken was tender, the rice was sticky and fluffy and the salad was very fresh and crisp. They had also given us some chilli oil to add to the rice if we felt it was too bland. My friend has an egg intolerance, and they were happy to cater for this without any problems.
Whoosh is mainly a takeaway, although there are some tables where you can sit in. The décor is simple, the food is where you find the wow factor. It is very clean and you could eat your dinner off the floor if you were of that inclination. Whoosh has a 5 star food hygiene rating.
Prices are reasonable, around £6 each for a main meal and a drink. .
I will definitely be back here, the staff are friendly helpful and enthusiastic, and it was clear that they cook with love and passion and it was (quite) fast and healthy food for not much money.
Whoosh is open from 11.30 - 5.30 every day, except Friday, where they are open til 8pm.
