I get a lot of foreign visitors at work and every now and then my conscience pricks me that they are sitting in their hotel rooms with room service and I can't help but respond to the sense of obligation to take them out for dinner. Doesn't that sound awful? The problem is that during the week I stay almost an hour's drive from the office and taking people out means I'll need to hang around the office until they are hungry enough to eat and inevitably I'll be late getting back.
