Advantages: A different dining experience, tasty & nutritious food

Disadvantages: There's not one on my doorstep!

First of all don't be scared of Yo Sushi - yes it's different, but once you get the hang of it you're in for many a happy eating experience and plenty of delicious food.

Many of my friends visibly baulk at the word 'Sushi'. "Raw fish?" they say. "I'm not eating that". But just to clarify, it's not all raw fish. There's plenty of chicken, prawn, beef and vegetarian dishes to choose from too, and much of the fish comes cooked. Avoid the sashimi dishes if you don't like raw fish, or give it a try - you may enjoy it!

Once you get past the huge excitement of the revolving dishes (all the plates are colour coded - the price depends on the colour of the plate), be sure to order some miso soup. This traditional japanese tofu-based soup is extremely tasty, plus it's unlimited refills at Yo so you can have as much as you like. And it compliments the dishes really well. Fizzy and still water is also unlimited and on tap in front of you so you don't have to keep calling the waiting staff.

Here's my top tip for before you get started to anyone who's new to Japanese food (this really enhances the food taste for me): pour some soy sauce into a petri dish and mix in some of the green wasabi paste. Dip anything and everything into it - it's delicious, particularly with the salmon. It's all unlimited too. And there's pickled ginger out which is great for cleansing the palate between dishes.

The great thing about Yo is you can keep ordering or taking dishes from the conveyor as you go along so you simply eat until you're full. It's genius! I tend to order a rice or noodle dish from the menu as an accompaniment and chicken terryaki as its scrummy, then grab off the belt as I see something I fancy. But keep visiting and you'll find what works for you!

I absolutely adore Japanese food and I love the relaxed, informal atmosphere in Yo Sushi. For me it's always my number one choice of dining establishment during a trip to the Trafford Centre (it's inside Selfridges). I've taken some friends there who weren't too sure to begin with and I've not had a complaint yet, so it really is worth trying if you're curious and have never been. And if you're a seasoned Yo-er, I can recommend the Trafford branch as they've always had a full range of dishes and helpful staff.

Oh yeah - one more thing. It's not only delicious but it's actually healthy too! What are you waiting for???

Summary: Nowhere better to eat!
