Fairly cheap if you have a voucher, but not my first choice for food

I went to Zizzi near Canary Wharf with my friend on a Tuesday lunch time before we went to the cinema. Zizzi is not actually in the main Canary Wharf shopping centre area (which is where the DLR and tube are) so if you're planning to go you might need to check the location. It's actually on Westferry Circus which for those in the know is near the waterfront by Royal China and the Virgin gym. It's only about a 5 min walk from the transport links though. The inside is nice and bright with big glass windows so you can look out on to the river front and the decor is modern and unobtrusive. The staff were helpful and attentive without being too in your face so that's nice. The menu is pizza/pasta type. There are sections for pizza, calzone (the folded over pizza ones), pasta, mains (grilled fish/meat), risotto and salads with obviously drinks and starters. Being Italian it's quite carb heavy, but you could go for a meat option with some salad and there's choice for vegetarians also. I had an apple juice and a fiorentina pizza. I'd wanted it as a calzone but they explained this wasn't really practical as the egg wouldn't get cooked if the pizza was folded over soI just went for a normal pizza. My friend had a calzone. The food arrived promptly and was well presented. My main complaint was that the pizza was a bit overcooked. Think of when you forget your pizza and leave it in for an extra 10 mins. It wasn't burnt, it was just too crispy for my taste and dry. My friend seemed happy with hers, but she did leave most of the crust and said that was a bit dry. It was edible, but I didn't particularly enjoy it. To be fair when the waiter came over and asked how everything was when we'd finished I told him the pizzas were overcooked and he seemed surprised (maybe people don't normally tell the truth when asked?!) So hopefully they will take this on board. Additionally, he was going to take the price of my pizza off but since we were using a promotional voucher (buy one, get one for £1) he took off the £1 so we only paid about £7 each. I probably wouldn't go again, to be honest I prefer Pizza Express.
