Felfellas - An excellent restaurant (Felfela)
Member Name: SWK
Advantages: Cheap, good Egyptian food, an excellent location Disadvantages: None
Eating in Cairo can be a hazardous experience, and many Westerners are rightly very careful about what they eat. Unfortunately, they can also miss out on some wonderful food. Felfellas on Pyramid Road, is an excellent place to go and taste genuine Egyptian food. It is almost opposite the Great Pyramid, so while you eat, you can also see. The menu is clear to read, with each dish well described in English. I tried Fava beans with garlick (LE3.70) and stuffed vine leaves (LE12) washed down with Stella (LE10) and felt absolutely full when I'd finished - totally set up for the Sound and Light at the Pyramids. You can either eat outside, beside the street, but you may be hassled by flies, or inside in air-conditioned comfort. Children are welcome, and might enjoy playing with the terrapins in the water feature. Summary: |
