Before being called away to the UK I had chance to meet up with a group of friends from Portugal and visit a restaurant and winery I first went to a few years ago. The Herdade do Esporao winery; a large wine estate which lies 3 kilometres outside Reguengos de Monsaraz is in the Alentejo region of Portugal. The drive from Lisbon isn't too daunting as it is motorway most of the way in the direction of Evora. Having been very impressed with the wine tour - in fact it is one of the best tours I have been on regarding the tour of the vineyards and the wine-tastings, I was even more impressed with this excellent restaurant.
