When on holiday in Florida, our favourite place for breakfast was Golden Corral. One we found it we went every day for breakfast and sometimes in the evening too.

In America nearly every restaurant does all-you-can eat meals. So why is Golden Corral better than the rest? It’s the same price nearly everywhere, about £5 for all you can eat breakfast. We found in Golden Corral that this included coffee and fruit juice, in other places you had to pay extra for a drink although once you bought it is kept getting filled for free!

The choice for food in Golden Corral is amazing. You don’t pay £5 just for a bowl of cereal! You also get a full fried selection (sausages/bacon/egg etc.). There’s a salad area in case you are dieting (don’t diet in America – food is too good). Then you have a selection of cakes, loads of different sorts, and sweets (always good to shut kids up). You also get a great choice of fruit and don’t forget the pancakes in syrup, yum!

All of the food is freshly made, you can usually see them making it, and it’s never left standing for ages so it doesn’t go hard and dry! I think it’s eaten too quickly for that!

The service is great, they can’t do enough to help you. We always had clean plates on our table for the next round and out drinks were never empty. The staff are all very friendly and happy to help. Always leave a tip after your meal – very rude not to in America!

The restaurant was always very clean when we were there, no dirt anywhere!

For the evening meal in Golden Corral you still have your salad/fruit/cake etc. The cooked breakfast parts are changed with chicken bits, vegetables, lots of different meats (usually something different every day). They have special evenings, we had an all you can eat King Prawn night and an all you can eat Steak night. They cook your steak as you want it in front of you and you
can choose which piece you want. The evening meal is a little bit more than breakfast (about £8) but you get more choice of food and you will probably eat more!

I would say for breakfast Golden Corral is the best place to go. The evening meal is brilliant but it isn’t the best around. Ponderosa is very good for evening meals but it’s nice to eat around and try somewhere different every night.
