Advantages: Fun
Disadvantages: Nothing
When we were in Vegas we booked to go and see a show at our hotel which was the Treasure island Hotel. In the interest of being in time for the performance we wanted to eat nearby and this is when we found Kahunaville. We had a great time there and I will let you know why this is definitely a place to go and eat if you get chance.
Location
Kahunaville is located in the Treasure Island Hotel in the middle of the main Vegas strip. You will be able to find the Hotel very easily as it is a huge hotel with a ship next to it. When in the Hotel you have to follow the signs to the mystere theatre and then Kahunaville is right next to it. It is properly in the corner of the Hotel and seems to be hidden away which is a big appeal in my eyes as you get away from the hustle and bustle of Vegas.
Appearance
When you walk up to Kahunaville you will notice that you are in a dark corridor but then you will see the bright lights of the sign. The sign is colourful letters and they are written in a tropical stylewith a crown over the I. From the sign you can tell it looks like a fun and funky place. Also the fact it is penned as the Island restaurant and party bar gives the fun vibe away too.
As you walk in the room it is very colourfully decorated with plants and a tropical theme throughout, all in all it is just very colourful! And I cannot stress that enough. You immediately feel warm and comfortable in this bar which is great and they showed us to our seats straight away so no waiting which was good as I was so hungry.
The bar is in the middle of the room and there are seats all around for dining. The bar is quite big as Kahunaville is legendary for the bar staff and their acrobatic flairs. Unfortunately we did not get to see one of their shows but from looking at the website it is worth asking at the bar when they do them if you are there.
Food
The food choice is wonderful. They have a lunch menu and an evening menu and you can get special offers for both. We stayed in the Treasure Island Hotel so we had a voucher in our room for free lunch so this is why we were glad to go here. So I can't comment on the evening menu but I can the lunch one.
The menu had a good choice but they are all quite strange choices which I really enjoyed and as you can imagine the menu reflects the actual place. What I chose was a chicken burger which had a pina colada sauce on top. It was delicious and something that I never would have thought that is nice but it was one of the strangely best things I have ever had. My husband had a spicy firecracker wrap which was a garlic tortilla with chicken and the hot sauce. It was yummy!
The other selection I had seen that I would have liked to have tried is the sampler which was a bit of everything. The lunch menu is full of sandwich type meals but they are served with Kahunaville fries so they are big lunch dishes and will fill you up. The lunch dishes cost around $10 eachbut with the vouchers you get it a lot cheaper so if you can get your hands on them then do.
The food was great quality and we both really enjoyed it. My chicken was so tender and it was a big portion but I still managed to eat it all. It is nice when you go to somewhere that doesn't just sell the standard meals and invites you to try something different.
The desserts did look nice as they had my favourite waffles and Dave fancied the cheesecake but after our sandwiches we were way too full. The evening menu I believe contains things like Salmon and steak and crab cakes. The prices were around the $20 mark though so a bit more expensive.
Drinks
As this is a party bar I can assure you that they should be able to make any drink you would like. I had a pineapple juice as I can't drink alcohol whilst eating. Dave however had an appletini as we had never tried one. It was yummy but a bit too strong but the waitress was so nice and offered to dull it down a little (we are such lightweights!).
You can also buy Kahunaville souvenir glasses which some of them are huge. I think they were about $15 each but you get a drink with that. Our drinks came to $7 but that was mainly the appletini.
Conclusion
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Kahunaville and I can see why it is a party bar. We were there at a very quiet time of the day and it was still buzzing in there. I think the staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for you while you are dining there. The food is so delicious and I think the selection of food and drinks is great. This place is fun for you to come and have a proper relax and good time and you instantly feel comfortable in this place.
Five huge stars from me.
Thanks for reading.

- 25/10/09 Does the Kahunaville in Las Vegas have the games - arcady fruit machine style games that the one in Philly used to? If it does, do they pay real cash rather than stupid tickets that you can use to exchange for crap toys? |
