Disadvantages: Takes very long to get served, Waiters are extremelly rude, No respect for customers

I just think somethings have to be shared, such a good Restaurants, and Bad restaurants. I want to inform you all what has happened to me at the Girassol so that I can at least avoided for someone else.

I would like to say that I have never been so badly treated at a restaurant in my whole life. The service was terrible, rude, and very very slow!

We went on a party of 20 and had made reservations a week in advance for both seats and the dishes that we would consume. It took us actually 40 minutes to get drinks on the table, the waiters just seemed to ignore all 20 of us, not to mention the owner himself, the worse rudest Portuguese man I have ever met! After finally getting our drinks served it took another 30 min to have the entrances served (which also had been ordered a week previously!!) than it took 1 hour for the waiters to clean our table and serve the main dishes. We came to a point of almost leaving the place. Within 3 hours they had only served us 2 round of drinks and the attitude was if that was a favour as if we were not paying for it!

I have to be fair and say that the food was very good!! Both main dishes and starters, deserts are also very nice. But after 3 hours of starvation anything would have tasted well, not to mention that the treatment upsets you in such a way that not only you lose your apetite, you also cannot appreciate anything anymore.

I would never suggest to anyone in Amsterdam to ever go to the Girassol for a good time. I have heard that the same treatment has been given to other customers and that some actually left before the food arrived. It upsets me dearly to know that in Portugal you are very well treated at restaurants and when you go to a Portuguese in Amsterdam they act as if rudeness was in their Blood. Please do not taken the wrong impression about Portugal and its people. Just don't go to Girassol to get the Portuguese atmosphere cause you will not find it.

So next time yo
u want to go out, have a laugh a enjoy a good meal make sure you are not heading to the Girassol it is just not worth it!!!
