This is the best restaurant by far we went to eating there 5 times out of the 13 nights we stayed on the island. I have never seen such portions. We were eating out for about £15 for the two of us per night that included drinks. The meals were lovely. Duuring the day Es Pitus which is staffed by some very friendly and professional waiters, serves english breakfast menorcan style, and pizza, but come lunch time through to the evening they produce the most wonderful menorcan dishes.
One night I had a shoulder of lamb menorcan style. Well it must have been a very fit and large lamb, I could have eaten it again only i was allready stuffed.
Fish is also a great speciallity as it is throughout menorca. Swordfich is great, as is shark, and tuna.
Anything with menorcan cheese sauce is heartily remembered, and reccommended, the pepper sauce is also very good, its not heavey and thick but manages to be light, whilst remaining creamy.
I also had garlic mushrooms, this was magnificent but if you try it, blow on it first the mushrooms are soaked in oil and garlic, it is very hot, but excellent.
So where is it, well the only way to enter calan Blanes, or calan forcat is past citudella, and to do this you enter by the first roundabout opposite the vista balnes appartments, on your right you will see churchills Pub, and Sr. Donalds Fish and Chips (see seperate review) Take the right off the roundabout and then your first left. The next turning on the right es Pitus is on the corner, park in the side road if your driving.
The boys are extremely welcoming, they draw pictures for the little ones on the paper tablecloths and give them crayons to keep them quiet untill the food arrives. There English is good, and the childrens menu is both healthy and tasty!
