Having spent the past six months in sunny Valencia on the Spanish coast, it's a bit strange to now find myself in Leipzig, which lies within East Germany or the GDR as was. Aside from having to get used to speaking a different language in a place with impenetrable accents (the Leipziger accent has been described as having the prestige of Brummy mixed with the intelligibility of Glaswegian, to give you an idea of what it's like) we're also having to settle into a new culture and climate, as well as having to navigate around an unfamiliar city.
