Soutsos Taverna (Pervolia, Cyprus)

Description: Traditional Cypriot menu.

Newest Review: ... Meze - either Fish or Meat - can be ordered for a minimum of two people and is a real gut-buster that is much kinder on your wallet than your waistline at Euro 16.50 (Meat) and Euro 19.50 (Fish) per person. One thing I would say is that despite the fact that portion sizes and the number of courses seems to have been scaled back in the last few years, it still represents excellent value for ... more

Crowned Review Soutsos Taverna (Pervolia, Cyprus): Panicos on the Streets of Pervolia (2034 words)

~~~~~~~~~~~ INTRODUCTION ~~~~~~~~~~~ Cyprus is our favourite holiday destination, and I am lucky to be blessed with access to a self-catering beach house - owned by my father-in-law - just a few miles west of Larnaka airport. We usually take the very civilised 8:45am flight with BA from Heathrow, and after a four and something hour flight, it sets us down in Cyprus around half past three local time. After opening up the house, dumping our suitcases, making a mad dash out for the self-catering basics and arranging it all in the fridge, we like nothing better than to visit our favourite local taverna to get into the Cypriot swing of things. ...  Read the complete review
Express Review on Soutsos Taverna (Pervolia, Cyprus)
Soutsos in Pervolia is a traditional Cypriot Taverna which dominates the centre of Pervolia. The prices are reasonable, as is the food and it's great for an evening meal or a long lazy lunch. The meze is a very worthwhile experience although there is a lot of wasted food at the end of it.
The service is okay, but more recently they have waiters from eastern europe and not much English.
One small complaint I would have is that at times, when you just want to get your bill and go sometimes it's hard work. I have waited up to 30 minutes before and had to stand at the bar to push it through. Not trip to Pervolia would be complete without at least one meal here though.
Heavenly cakes, biscuits, sweets and savoury pastries. A diabetic's and slimmers worst nightmare!
Very cheap well cooked food. Witty waiters, lacey loos! The evening had to end.
Inexpensive good Greek inspired food at very reasonable prices No alcohol licence (though you can BYOB), a little cramped
