After reading a review about this item (courtesy of karlsm93) I was set on getting this set for one of my nieces for christmas courtesy of dooyoo and some lovely amazon vouchers. It only costs £5 and as my daughter loves playing in her little pretend kitchen when I am cooking, it only seemed fair she got this set too! I must say sh loves it! It comes with a sturdy blue basket, with two yellow plastic handles. This is a brilliant replica of a supermarket basket my daughter sees me carrying around when I occasionally take her with me on a trip to Sainsburys. The basket comes with a plentiful amount of fruit and vegetables, bananas, oranges, lemons, limes, and ... Read the complete review

When I originally bought this I was not intending my own children to have it. I bought it as a present for someone, only my 4 year old found it hidden in my wardrobe, and before I knew what he was doing it was open, so it was then easier to just let him have it. At the cost of £5, it was not really a big problem. My children have always helped me with food shopping and basic cooking, and they love their toy kitchen, so my son was pretty thrilled with this. The toy that my 13 month old daughter currently plays with the most is her tea set - she loves all the bits and bobs and can spend ages setting out cups and plates etc SHe also loves being outdoors and likes helping my husband bringing in the vegetables that he grows in our garden, and so I when I saw this Casdon Fruit and Vegetable basket, I thought this would be useful to her for both her tea set but also for language development, as she can play with the fruit and vegetables in a toy form that 'daddy' grows for real. This fruit and veg basket costs £5 on amazon, and as well as those children who enjoy tea sets, it would also be a good toy for children ... Read the complete review

My twins sons were desperate for a play kitchen at Christmas last year, and Santa was very obliging and brought them one, complete with pots and pans. The only thing missing was the food, so my mother-in-law bought this basket of fruit and vegetables for them. There were two main reasons I asked her to buy this particular set rather than any of the other similar play food sets available. The first was the low price - she found it in a local shop reduced to £3.50. The second reason is that one of my sons has a real problem with eating paper and card that we are trying to help him get over. Most reasonably priced food sets comes with little card boxes that are ... Read the complete review
