Advantages: Nice trolley

Disadvantages: Not much play food

One of the items my little girl received for Christmas this year was a Chad Valley shopping trolley. She loves playing pretend, "go to the shop," and buying me things and so we thought it would be a great gift for her. Plus we have lots of play fruit, vegetables, cans etc that we have from different sets so I knew these would work perfectly in the trolley too.

The trolley is made to resemble a proper supermarket trolley, ie you are able to push it along as it has four wheels and a long handle that juts up and stretches the whole way along the basket. There is a basket attached to the wheels for you to add all your shopping goodies to. Obviously, the trolley is made out of plastic and looks a bit cheap and plasticky if I'm honest but my kids love it so I guess that's all that matters.

The trolley came in a box and you did need to assemble it but all this entailed was snapping the four wheels onto the wheel base, the basket onto the top of the wheel base and the handle into the basket so really four snaps and its done. There are two stickers you can add to the side of the trolley that says Chad Valley on them and it makes it look like a proper supermarket trolley.
The trolley is quite flimsy so when you push it the wheels do go round but not always although its still fun to push. I wouldn't recommend this trolley for toddlers who cannot walk yet as its not sturdy enough to use as a walker. Being flimsy does come in handy though as my little girl is able to lift this trolley up and move it around if it gets stuck so that is good.
This trolley has been a hit with both my kids since we for it and they love pushing it around. One thing I don't like so much about it though is the food and groceries it came with. Luckily we have lots of play fruit and vegetables which we can use in this trolley but it didn't come with much and what it did do in my opinion is quite cheap and tacky looking.

There are three plastic cans which are a pretend CV (Chad Valley) brand, a CV soda, CV beans and CV coffee. Then there is one plastic apple and one plastic bread roll and that's it, not great in my opinion. There is an egg tray with 6 white plastic eggs which are actually quite good and are definitely the favourites with my kids.

There are some cardboard boxes of food too which are ok. They come flat and you just need to bend and fold them to put them together. There are 19 boxes in total with 6 varieties including button biscuits, tea bags, golden flakes, chocolate muffins, regular biscuits and pasta twirls. The nice thing is that I can put some of these away as replacements as in our house these cardboard boxes always get trod on and crushed and so to have some spares is great.

A fun toy if your kids love shopping roll play.
