3rd Edition D&D in general (Dungeons & Dragons in general)
Member Name: suzannethornton
Advantages: easy system, many player options, generic Disadvantages: little change to magic system
When I heard that Wizards of the Coast were planning to bring out yet another edition of Dungeons & Dragons I was unsure of what to expect. As a player of 2nd edition for years I was concerned that a revisal would mess up a tried & tested rules system which had been on the go for over 20 years. Then I read the new 3rd edition players handbook & DM guide. I was hooked straight away. The new rules system is a dream come true for fantasy players who up till now did not have a truly generic system. I always found the 2nd edition overly complex at times with to much dice rolling & not enough action. Now with the quick 'n' easy rules provided by 3rd edition you can finaly say it is a system designed to tell a story rather than a story overrun by the system. In my opinion (& that of others to whom I have spoken) is that I have finally found the game system I will stick with for fantasy role-playing. Best RPG buy I ever made. Summary: |
