When given my first set of warhammer, my parents were convinced that I would be done with it in five minutes. 5 years later, they are proved quite wrong when I'm buying yet another box of these little plastic models.

Every single one is a pure work of art, and while some may be impatient and hastily slap paint on them, those that take the time to really put some effort into painting are soon rewarded. They may be quite expensive, but there is no price to great for art.

Not all have the patience to pore over copious rulebooks and roll dice for hours at a time, but one can truly immerse themselves in the full-scale or sometimes even skirmish-scale warfare that is Warhammer 40,000, with futuristic weapons blasting left, right and centre, it's easy to see why people can enjoy the game so much. Backed up by the fantastic PC games, the entire game is an experience, perhaps not for everyone, but for those of us who are creative, patient and (if only slightly) artistic.

Summary: Good to keep your teenage kids out of trouble, or to engage in fully as a hobby
