Advantages: Easy to lern, fun to play.
Disadvantages: Expensive.
Warhammer 40,000 is a very good game to play but it’s quite expensive, it’s the same with the 28mm models, they are expensive. But the models are very detailed and it’s good fun to paint them. It’s a tabletop war game, you collected your own army and paint it. It’s a game based around stats for example if someone wants to shoot you roll a 6 sided to hit – depending on how good the model is at shooting the easier it is to hit the target. Then you have roll to wound and this time depending on how strong the weapon is the easier it is to wound/kill the target, then finally the target rolls for an armour save if he fails the model either dies or takes a wound. That’s just the shooting phase you also have the movement and the combat phase. The rules are very simple compared to the previous additions for example, the combat system – instead of rolling dice for each model individually, you add up all the attacks of the models then roll them all at once then roll to wound etc. This might not be great for all experienced players, as they might want to play a more accurate game like the original Warhammer 40k. In the box set you get 10 space marines, a land speeder, 20 Dark Eldar and scenery. You also get a detailed instruction manual to read through. You can also buy army books for your army to work out your army. If you don’t know anyone who plays it go down to your local Games Workshop store and you can play there. You can also buy more to add to your army to keep expanding it. It’s Science Fiction world 41,000 years in the future, its very interesting and fun to play and it’s worth getting and something to do as it’s not as mindless as TV.

- 30/12/00 Yes I agree, I have been collecting for about 4 years now and I have a Blood angle army which is quite big. But im just saying it can be expensive sometimes. |

- 29/12/00 It's not really that expensive though - since GW bought the plastic model producers they have been able to churn out cheaper models (with just as much detail)...£300 will get you a PS2 with NO games, or two good sized 40K armies that will last for years... |
