I'm not sure how it's happened, I'm really not, but it appears that Little B has more bags than any of us combined! When it came to her starting school last week we didn't have to rush out and choose her a new bag, instead we had a dilemma- which one will she use?! In her wardrobe she has a whole host of bags with her favourite characters on, we have Waybuloo, Peppa Pig (x2), Monsters Inc and Hello Kitty as well as various other little bags too!
The Peppa Pig bag which Little B used at school this week (so far!) was her Peppa Pig one. It's a slightly different design to the one in this picture. The one that she has is mainly a dusky pink and has a big 'P' on it and a picture of Peppa looking at the P. It has pale green handles and detailing too and although it is pink it's not really in your face as it's more dusky rather than bold.
The bag has two compartments- a main one and then a smaller one at the front. This pocket at the front is really useful. We have been putting a little piece of fruit in it to protect it from the things that get shoved into the main compartment. Both compartments are lined with a plastic-type material which makes it waterproof which is lucky considering that Little B has managed to spill her drink inside this bag not once... but twice already!!
The main compartment isn't huge but holds enough for Little B. It will hold her little lunch box, a pencil case and then lots of little pictures that she draws whilst at school and then puts in her bag ready to take home to us.
The straps go over her arms and are nicely padded. These can be altered in length if need be and there is also a little handle at the top which makes it easier for me to carry or if Little B doesn't want to put it on her back then the little handle is very useful for her.
I think it's a good back pack. It's waterproof which is essential and it's a decent size. I know it doesn't hold loads but Little B doesn't need it to and also it means it's a good size for her. She isn't the biggest of r 4 year olds and I imagine if it was much bigger it would be too much for her. The picture of Peppa is cute and is easily recognisable so Little B is happy.
It cost us £8 at the time. This seems quite normal for this kind of thing. I think it's a good bag although Little B has decided that tomorrow she will be using her Waybuloo one... so no doubt I shall be reviewing that too soon!
I'm reviewing a Peppa Pig backpack .
It cost me just £1 in a charity shop.....brand new and still had a tag on it !
The little girl I childmind had a 'thing' for Peppa Pig and although the intense crush has faded somewhat she still likes her/it (the pig) .
It is a strong little item made from wipe clean fabric and consists of a main compartment and with a smaller extra compartment attached.
Each compartment has a zip and the zip has a little flower attached to make pulling open and shut easier for fumbling little fingers.
There are two slightly padded shoulder straps and a little carrying handle as well .
The shoulder straps are adjustable ,which is handy because when used with padded winter coats they need let out a bit for a comfortable,not-too-tight fit.
It has Peppa's name on it and a picture of her with her freaky looking teddy.
The sides and the side that the straps are on are bright pink and the pocketed side is bright blue.
We've had a few debates over what Holly could leave at our house and what what must be carried back home when mum collects her, and I've had a few phone calls to reassure her that things left here are safe & not lost as she feared. So my solution was this emergency pack, which she has responsibility for packing when mum is due to collect her. Anything she "simply can't spend a night without" (those things vary) gets put in here for bringing home and by and large the system works.
She has another slightly bigger bag for playgroup use, but this little Peppa one has been really handy and means she can differentiate playgroup necessities from things she wants to use at my house.
The main compartment holds any toys she chooses (within reason) and the front compartment is her 'make-up bag' where she keeps her play make-up set and a selection of hair bobbles and hair bands.
The zips were a little stiff at first from non use,but I just rubbed a candle lightly along the teeth and closed and opened the zips a few times and they soon loosened up.
It can get grubby from being thrown in the shoe cupboard at home and being regularly dropped between car and house and while it IS wipe clean to a degree it has also been washed by hand in my kitchen sink, tied out on the line with gardening wire and finally dried on the radiator with no fading after little brother Conal threw up on it and a bottle of juice leaked in it (two separate occasions thankfully). I wouldn't like to do this too often though, in case it weakens the stitching on the seams.
All things considered this has served Holly and myself well over this past few months and avoided a few tantrums, and while I admit I got a bargain, I'd still be happy to pay the £6-£7 her mum says they would sell for......and I'm a bit of a miser . It is a tad small, smaller than her playgroup one, but then THAT cost £12 so fair enough in reality.
It wouldn't do for school in my opinion. I think books and pokey pencils etc might be too much for it over time and it really is a bit small for that anyway....but for littler ones it is lovely, and also useful.
Would I recommend it ? Yes,definitely. It is a handy little item and if you get it at a bargain price then even better. Even at the full price it is worth it for keeping essentials in one place.
Thank you for reading ~~~myloh.
When my little boy went to nursery and received a Thomas backpack to carry his change of clothes and indoor shoes my little girl was always playing with it when he brought it home so we decided to buy a Peppa pig one for her. She loves to help carry things when we go out for the day and as we had to take a change of clothes for her when she was potty training she decided she wanted to carry these herself in her backpack.
This bag is Peppa pig and of course has the Peppa pig design printed all over it. The bag is made up of two main compartments you have the main compartment which is designed to carry larger items and is the biggest space of the bag but it also has a front pocket designed in a circle shape it is not the biggest of spaces and because of the shape of it can be rather difficult to carry certain things but my little girl still finds plenty of use for it. The design we have has a large picture of peppa detailed on it with P is for Peppa written across the backpack. It is a lovely pink colour and has other details printed on it like butterflies and flowers so that it makes the bag a little brighter and more interesting which my little girl loves. It is nice and bright and attractive to a child straight away and of course with Peppa detailed on the bag it is instantly recognisable to any Peppa pig fan.
The bag itself seemed really small when we purchased it as we ordered it from Amazon we did not see the bag before it arrived and it did look tiny when we first received it. Saying that it was a great size for my two year old little girl it fitted perfectly on her back and as it was not huge it meant she could not overload it and make it too heavy to carry. She still uses it now she is three and it fits well on her back still and the handles of the bag sit well on her.
The zip is really easy to undo and do up although my little girl did need assistance at first she soon got the hang of it once it loosened up a little. There is a little flower petal detail on each of the zips meaning that it gives little one a little more grip for pulling the zip open and closed I was worried at first that these would come of very easily but so far we have had around eight months worth of use from the bag and they still remain intact.
This bag is great for taking on picnics or while you're out and about to take a spare change of clothes. It could also be used for nursery where only a spare change of clothes is needed however I do believe it would be too small form a child going to school that would need to carry books and a pencil case as the bag is not that tall you would have a job trying to fit a story book in there and it is a little short on space.
The bag is well made the pictures are just like the TV character and all the stitching in the bag has lasted really well. The zip still works perfectly despite my daughter opening and closing the bag over and over again.
My only downside is as it is light in colour and my daughter takes it out with her when we go out for the day it does become dirty rather quickly and the dirt shows up really easily. It is wipe clean only which is ok for small stains but we do have a few marks on the bag that no matter how much I try to wipe them away they stay put. This makes the bag look messy and although I cannot seem to get my daughter to agree it needs replacing thankfully she starts nursery in August and so I will be able to purchase her a new one.
I purchased mine from Amazon but they are available from supermarkets and toy stores like toys r us. There are different designs so you should be able to find one to suit your taste and they range from between £7- £10 depending on where you purchase it from so do shop around. This is a great bag for a Peppa pig fan it is just a little small and would not really be practical for use for school however it would be perfect for a child at nursery that just needs a spare change of clothes.
Peppa Pig Play Time Backpack
With our little one starting preschool, she needed a backpack to carry a change of clothes and other bits she wanted or needed to take in with her. We had a look in a few shops and found that backpacks seemed either too big for her small frame or too expensive. Upon looking online we found this Peppa Pig bag in a couple of different places including Amazon.co.uk. The prices ranged from £7.99 right up to £12.00. Our little one loves Peppa Pig and we wanted to get her a backpack with this character though £12.00 seemed a little high really. I chanced a look on Ebay.co.uk and came across the exact same bag brand new and decided to put a bid on it. I found myself feeling quite happy when I won the backpack for only £2.50 with a £1.10 postage and packaging fee! A bargain! And when my little one opened the packaging, her eyes lit up and she could not wait to start preschool.
The backpack is slightly smaller than many backpacks and is therefore a perfect size for young preschool children. The main colours are a light blue with pink surround with the recognisable images of Peppa Pig on the front. There is one main compartment to the backpack which actually holds quite a large lot of things despite the small size of the bag, and on the very front is a smaller pocket, which again, manages to hold a number of things in. I can quite easily fit a whole change of clothes, Wellington boots plus a small toy into the main pocket and the smaller items fit snugly into the little front pocket such as other toys or hat and gloves and so forth. On the main compartment front is the Peppa Pig logo in dark blue and pink with five small building blocks either side. The small pocket hosts the main image with Peppa in her red dress holding her teddy with another couple of building blocks and the words 'Play Time'. Both pockets are opened and closed with zips. There are two straps on the back which are quite thick and comfortable on a little ones shoulders/back. These straps are adjustable to quite far. Above these straps is a small pink carry handle in the same strap material which comes in handy when the child wants to carry it in their hands rather than on their back, or to hang it over a hook at preschool.
My little one has had this back since Christmas as we bought it slightly early for her starting preschool, though it was used straight away and is now a fun backpack which she takes with her into preschool. Being Peppa Pig, it helps my little one feel settles at preschool as it is something very familiar to her. It still looks practically brand new, though is a difficult bag to clean. In the main, dirt and grime comes out of the backpack by simply washing it with a cloth, though due to the material, some stains and scuffs can not be removed, though this is probably the same with any backpack of this kind.
I think that the upper price of £12.00 is a little expensive for a small backpack such as this, though at the bargain price I bought it for, I feel very happy.
