===My Opinion===
I am now trying to eat more fruit and vegetables and one thing I now enjoy is a plateful of salad. I order online with Tesco so as well as their pickle I have also been buying their pickled beetroot.
According to the Boots website beetroot has also been shown to lower blood pressure so as well as being tasty in a salad there are health benefits as well.
These jars of beetroot I find very economical and convenient as I can use as many slices as I wish and then just store them in the fridge. It states that it will keep for up to 6 weeks after opening but mine is gone within a week or two anyway.
I use some of these slices of beetroot with onion, cheese, cucumber and tomatoes. The slices vary in size but I do not mind as I sort of chop them up anyway. They are all well cooked without being mushy. So far I have had a few jars and have not found any to be hard or not cooked properly. They have a sort of earthy taste but that s what beetroot is like. The vinegar with them is not too sharp and acidic so that the beetroot is pleasant to eat - but is not too sweet or salty.
I think these are a great accompaniment to any salads and I even put them in my salad sandwiches.
The more vegetables we can eat the better and I find that this is a good way of having vegetables without buying the fresh beetroot which can often go off before you get to use them.
I normally have some every day now with other salad items and always try and have a spare jar or two in the cupboard.
Personally I buy the smaller jars as they are just for me and I find them more convenient to use - though as I am eating so much these days I may start buying the larger jars.
I have not tried the Tesco Everyday Value Beetroot but find that this Tesco product is great value and I will continue to buy it.

5 stars.

Tesco Value Pasta Sauce
by SkateyKaty71
I am having a foody day today. I have just finished making meat balls for the family tea tonight and i am using Tesco Value Pasta Sauce which i now use constantly.
The packaging does nothing to get the taste buds going but at the end of the day i am not going to eat the packaging.
When i first used this product i ... purchased it for 31p where as alot of the 'leading' brands were costing over a pound! On opening the jar my initial thought was that it was going to be very bland and of a runny consistancy. I was very much surprised, yes it was slightly thinner than some of the other brands i had used in the past, but it smelt as the others did.
I poured this into a pan to warm through and had a little taste, to me it was missing a little something, so i added some basil to taste and it quickly tasted no different from the leading brands. I personally prefer to use this as a base to my pasta/ rice meals. If you are adding other ingredients such as chillies or garlic there is absolutely nothing wrong with this sauce, but i would recommend adding at least basil dried or fresh.
I think this is excellent value for money! Read the complete review |

Tesco Value Brown Sauce
by xxfoxyredxx
Whenever I can save a few pennies I will certainly do so. With rising costs of everything at the moment I am aware I am not alone in doing this. For years I bought HP Sauce convincing myself it was the best however in the past few months since cutting back there is only one I have been buying often and its this Tesco Everyday Value Brown ... Sauce.
The Packaging:
This comes in one size as far as I am aware of and thats in large plastic see-through bottle with a bottom opening white plastic flip top lid to it and it holds 560g. On the front label we are told that it is Tesco Everyday Value Brown Sauce 'Tasted And Approved By Customers', there is an at a glance nutritional chart shown along with little pictures of sausages and eggs and so on and a photograph of a fried looking breakfast. On the back of the bottle other information listed includes ingreidents and allergy advice is given, storage advice is given, a full nutritional chart is listed, the size is stated (as I have listed already) and contact details for Tesco are clearly given. I like the bottle this sauce comes in and the way you can squeeze the sauce out of the bottom of it with ease and there is also a slight curve to the large bottle which makes it easier to handle.
The Sauce:
Dark brown, glossy and easy to squeeze out of the bottle I really like this particulary on my sausage and my bacon sandwiches. The sauce has a slightly fruity, malty and sharp taste to it which is really tangy and rather strong in flavour. I can taste a vinegar taste to it, feel it is very well seasoned and what is good about it is that when it is popped on warm/hot foods it doesn't go all runny like brown water and it holds itself very well indeed!
I really like the quality of this and can't believe the price of it for such a large bottle is only 30p and with only 12 calories and just a trace of fat and saturates per tablespoon it isn't bad on the old hips either! Read the complete review |
