      A tasty sauce!

The one thing I eat alot of in my home is sauce! I'm a complete sauce-a-holic and I guess I always have been really lol. We have fish, chips and mushy peas once a week and I can't imagine not being able to cover my meal in tomato sauce/ketchup! The thought actually horrifies me in fact!

We usually have Heinz tomato ketchup but my Mother like a lot of people have tried to do lately has tried to lower the cost of our shopping a little bit. She still does the most part of our grocery shopping in one of the big 4 supermarkets but has started to do a little top up shopping in places like Aldi. She spotted this huge bottle of tomato sauce for about 79p a bottle and decided it simply had to be worth a go!

      The Packaging:

I'm not sure what sizes this is available in other than this one to be honest but this is a huge 1kg plastic see-through squeezy bottle and to the bottom of it there is a white plastic flip-top lid there concealing a small hole. The bottle has a front label that has a photograph of tomatoes on it and I'm told it is Bramwells 'Pickles, Sauces & Dressings' Squeezy Tomato Ketchup and then I'm told it is suitable for Vegetarians and there is an at a glance nutritional chart on there. On the back label other information includes ingredients and allergy advice being listed (Contains: Wheat & Gluten), storage advice and a full nutritional chart is shown, size is stated (as I've listed already) and contact details for Aldi are given. The only small problem with this particular bottle is that it is large and heavy to handle, other than that it's fine to squeeze and use and of course i t is informative enough!

      The Sauce Itself:

The sauce is a rich, dark red in colour, smells lightly of sweet but of natural tomatoes and the consistency is smooth and rich not too runny but course not too thick and it's squeezable with ease.

Taste wise this is actually rather nice actually. It tastes of tomatoes of course and as I expected. It is nicely sweetened opposed to being full of sweeteners and it's tangy and slightly sour and personally I think this is a rather tasty sauce and of a great consistency and all round it's a bit of a bargain buy for the quality and size it is!
