“ Brand: Asda / Type: Sauces „
Review of Asda Bramley Apple Sauce.
Part of the Asda own label range, this Bramley Apple Sauce is absolutely delicious.
Apple sauce is a traditional accompaniment to pork dishes, as a vegetarian I tend to eat apple sauce with almost anything!
The sauce contains no artificial colours or flavours and is as close to home made apple sauce as you can get in my opinion. The Apple Sauce costs in the region of 62p currently.
The sauce is presented in a glass jar containing 280g. The jar has a twist off lid and the sell by date is clearly displayed in the centre of this.
Labelling is clear, simple and attractive, a picture of the sauce in use and the product details in a clear font help to make it easily recognisable of the supermarket shelf.
The ingredients, nutritional values, storage advice and company information are all to be found clearly displayed on the sides of the label.
Appearance, Taste and Texture
The apple sauce is pale lemon in colour, it has a lovely apple-y smell. The texture is very smooth, almost purée like in fact. It has a fresh apple flavour and is very sweet. There is no discernible after taste and the sauce blends well with hot or cold foods. To be honest, I prefer the texture of this mass produced apple sauce to the awful lumpy stuff my dear old Mum tends to produce! Good job she isn't computer orientated.......

My Thoughts and Conclusion
A delicious product that delivers the goods! A nice tasty apple sauce with no effort, simply open the jar and there it is. We particularly like this apple sauce, we have tried the Asda's Smartprice version, but for the sake of saving around 15p per jar, I didn't feel the compromise was worth it. This apple sauce goes with lots of vegetarian meals as well as the traditional pork, it is certainly worth a try and I would recommend it to anyone.
Thank you for reading.
