      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Not something I would purchase again sadly but me mate loves it!

Whenever I have any kind of lamb I always opt for mint sauce...I just love the stuff. However one week in Asda I picked this Mint 'Jelly' up to try as my flatmate/bestmate loves it and I thought oh well it can't be that much different to my usual so at 48p only a jar we decided to give it a go.

      The Packaging:

The glass see-through jar has a dark green twist on/off lid to the top of it and the size I opted for (and the only size I actually saw on the shelves) holds 190g on the mint jelly. On the front of the label there are pictures of mint leaves and we are told that it is indeed Asda mint Jellyand that it contains no artificial colours, flavours or hydrogenated fat and the size is stated (as I've listed already). Other information given on the back of the jar includes ingredients and nutritional advice and contact details for Asda are given. Nice enough and informative jar this is.

      The Mint Jelly:

Opening this up it wasn't a jelly in appearance as I expected it to be however the dark green mint pieces had clumped together a bit jellified in a see-through jelly like substance and the murkyish green, minty fragrant watery part was all over the top so it needed mixing badly and even then it was rather runny.

However tastewise this isn't so different to a mint sauce if your familiar with that however I feel this is rather sweeter. Made from dried mint, vinegar and a whole heap of of sugar and spearmint oil this really is minty fresh and I like the spearmint flavour this has alot though the appearance of this soggy looking jelly mix is rather off putting and it is incredibly sweet so if using this less is more.

All in all the flavour of this is interesting, not to sour, minty as anything but too sweet for me the most weird thing about it really is the alien spawn appearance that it gives to food and on that note I wouldn't buy it again to be honest!
