      Disadvantages

I wouldn't bother with this soup again.

I was shopping in Pondstretcher earlier in the week, looking for a duvet cover. They didn't have what I wanted and so I moved to the aisle that sells food to see if their were any bargains that I could fill my basket with. Of course, I managed to find a few items, includindg a couple of tins of Baxter's soups for the bargain (or so I thought!) price of fifty four pence. The usual price, as stated on the tin, is eighty nine pence. One of the flavours I chose was a cream of mushroom soup, from Baxter's 'favourites' range.

I like many flavours of soups, although I don't eat any which contain meat. As I like mushroom soup I thought this was a safe buy, but I was wrong.

I opened the tin on Wednesday for my lunch. I heated it in a saucepan, on the oven hob, stirring and heating gradually, for a few minutes, as directed. (an alternative method is to microwave) and then I transferred the soup to a soup bowl. There I was setted and ready to consume my soup. I was very disappointed.

I found the soup rather thin and not particularly creamy but, mainly, I just ddin't like the taste or rather the lack of taste. I added salt and a sprinkling of pepper, but still found this soup very bland. I carried on eating and ate about half of the soup before giving up. It's very unusual for me to finish my lunchtime snack.

Others may like this but I wouldn't personally purchase this or even eat it for free. It wasn't inedible or anything but I would choose Heinz, Sainsbury's or Teso's own brands of Mushroom soup over this. When it comes to mushroom flavour soup then Heinz is my favourite.

Baxter's has a good reputation, yet I have found recently, that I've been disappointed with a few of their soup varities. I feel that perhaps they don't deserve this reputation if I prefer Heinz and even Sainsbury's to Baxters. Or am I in the minority here, maybe?
