I am a big lover of black bean sauce, especially in a chinese chicken and vegetable dish with some egg fried rice, but we all know how much a chinese take away or restaurant can cost these days, so I thought I would try to make my own black bean sauce and chicken dish, in the hope it would some what resemble the taste you get from a chinese take away.
I bought a Blue Dragon sauce from Morrisons as it was on offer at the time and I thought if I didn't like it, then it wouldn't be such a waste as it was cheaper than the other sauces on offer. I took it home and prepared to cook my first home made chinese meal ever.
I am happy to say that the meal turned out great, and my family loved it too. The sauce tasted just like the sauce used by my local chinese take away and my family all agreed, it really did taste like it came from the take away, instead of from my kitchen! It was easy to use as well, after frying up the chicken and vegetables, just pour in the jar of sauce and stiry fry for 2 minutes, done. Easy as anything to make, especially when teamed with Uncle Bens Express Egg Fried Rice lol.
This jar costs around a £1 to buy in most supermarkets, and is a bargain for such a great meal, especially when you compare it to the cost of buying a chinese take away or eating in a chinese resturaunt. It comes in a glass jar, with a screw top lid and a blue label which has a picture of some chinese food on the front, and all cooking instructions on the back along with some nutrional information and some information about the Blue Dragon Company.
I recommend this sauce as much as I possibly can, it really is as good as a chinese meal cooked in a restaurant.
