I'm reviewing the low fat version of this soup, which is now under the name Batchelors after they bought out Campbell's and re-named it. My Mum got a couple of tins in at the weekend and I hadn't tried it in years so I made up a tin and had it for my lunch and it lived up to the soup I remembered from my childhood, a very warming, hearty soup. Price: This tin costs 45p for 295g which is a really good price, the tin does look a little small but as it is a condensed soup it makes double what's in the tin. Campbells condensed soup were always found in my store cupboard as I used them for cooking more than as soup, but I suddenly realised last year they had disappeared from the supermarket shelves. They have been re-named Batchelors Condensed Soup from March last year although the recipe remains unchanged. The re-branding followed the takeover of Campbell's UK by food giant Premier Foods last year. The product I am reviewing is Batchelors Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup . Before anybody tells me I've put it in the wrong place, I haven't - Campbells was purchased by Premier Foods who renamed the product to tie in with their Batchelors range .
