      Prefer Heinz!

I'm a huge tomato ketchup fan. I have to have it with absolutely everything. For a while I seemed to float between buying Daddies Ketchup and Heinz ketchup although for some reason I went off Daddies and just kept buying Heinz. However, whilst doing the food shop recently, Daddies Ketchup was on offer and so I decided to give Daddies another go.

The ketchup comes in a squeezy bottle which is handy. The bottle is see through which is good as it means you can see how much ketchup is left in the bottle. I do find that there is a negative point with this bottle; once the sauce goes down, it's much harder to get out.

The sauce is a dark, bloody red. It is quite thick. The sauce is very sweet - similar to that of cheaper brands of tomato ketchup. I find now that I have got used to Heinz, this ketchup is a bit too sweet for my liking. It tastes a bit of and reminds me of tinned tomatoes which have been shoved in a blender. This sauce is far too tomato-y for my liking. It's weird because I hate tomatoes yet love tomato sauce - Heinz tomato sauce just isn't like tomatoes and so I guess that's why I prefer theirs to this one.

Whilst I enjoyed this ketchup this time round - it made a nice change - I think I'll go back to Heinz. I would still buy this one again, just that I much prefer Heinz tomato ketchup.

      Thanks for reading!

This Is Not As Good As Heinz Ketchup But OK As A Standby

I can't believe this hasn't been written about before and think it's madly strange that I had to suggest this product myself..... the 2nd biggest brand of ketchup in the country!!!

Anyway, I'm only writing about it because I don't think it's half as good as Heinz ketchup! lol We only ever buy Daddies Tomato Ketchup when we're completely out because the shop round the corner doesn't sell the Heinz one, the 400g squeezy bottle I'm using at the minute cost 99p and that's quite cheap I think compared to Heinz.

The problem with Daddies is that it's a bit thinner than Heinz ketchup and also hasn't got such a rich flavour. I think it's quite vinegary and doesn't taste as good as Heinz or even other supermarket brands of ketchup. I especially don't think it goes so good with chips because in the chippy I always ask for loads of vinegar anyway and using this Daddies ketchup makes them a bit TOO vinegary.

I had a bit on an egg butty today and it went nice with that but you have to make sure you don't put too much on because the taste of this will overpower anything with a faint taste like egg.

It's mad because I love Daddies brown sauce but there's just something I don't like about this ketchup. I think it's because it doesn't taste as tomatoey as Heinz and that sort of defeats the object of having TOMATO KETCHUP on your meal!!! lol

You can buy this in the small glass bottles like in the photo Dooyoo have got up, bigger glass bottles and also a selection of plastic squeezy bottle sizes. I'll carry on buying it when we're completely out of ketchup and I have to get some from the shop round the corner, but like always if I remember in the supermarket I'll deffo go for Heinz instead.
