Advantages: Lovely!
Disadvantages: None
When it comes to my meals the spicier the better is my motto. I really am a saucy bird and I find it almost impossible to munch foods without a whole range of sauces on my plate! I do love sweet chilli dipping sauces and own a couple in my cupboard and it's something my Mother gets me weekly in the shopping and this one is a frequent visitor!
The Packaging....
220ml with a red plastic screw on/off lid at the top. It's a squarish glass see-through bottle with a light blue sticky label to the front and on the back of it and a blue label around the neck of the bottle that covers the lid and you rip it off to get to the product the first time you go to use it. On the front in blue and white writing I'm told it's Encona Caribbean Thai Sweet Chilli Dip which is 'spicy and mild and has a rich sweet chilli flavour'. Then there is a photograph of some king prawns with a small pot of chilli sauce to dip in at the side of them and finally the size is stated at the bottom (as I've stated already). On the back I'm told a bit about the product, ingredients and nutritional values are given, size is again stated, the best before date is stamped on and finally the bar-code is on there. It's a nice tidy, simple bottle that is rather heavy and I do like the fact I can see the sauce through it so I know when it needs replacing.
A Bit About The Product According To The Back Of The Bottle....
Thai Sweet Chilli Dip is prepared to an original recipe combining a mild blend of chillies and garlic with sugar and lime juice to provide a delicious, gently spiced, sweet flavour. Traditionally served as a dip with spring rolls, seafood, and fried chicken, it is equally delicious in stir-fries, sandwiches and with all your favourite foods.
Me Eating It....
Well this is truly delicious and of great quality and goes with so many foods and peps up even the most dull of meals. Smother chips with it, splat some in a stir fry when cooking, lace salad with it, dip chicken, or any kind of meat or fish in it, you could even dip crisps in it if you wanted to, the combinations are endless and me, I even dip plain toast in it as I just love it!
Appearance wise it's a rich transparent kind of gloopy, syrupy mixture. Easily pourable with lots of visible chilli flakes in red and yellow in there. Smell wise it is really garlicky with a real natural sweet sugar smell to it. It's a unique smell for sure and it took me a bit of getting used to I can tell you that much! Taste wise.... well it's sweet, tastes of garlic, is fairly smooth and as expected sweet and syrupy. It isn't boiling hot even though it contains chilli flakes but it does after the sweetness give a short, swift hit of a kick of hot that is like a burst of hot and then that's it and it leaves your mouth coated in sweetness. The after taste is rather of garlic, it does make breath smell somewhat and leave hands sticky but yummy...it really is! It's a really nice, thick sauce, high in flavour, well blended, the chilli flakes are moist and it's a melt in the mouth tangy sauce and I wouldn't want to be without it!
