I Never Thought I'd Like This Because It's Yummy!

This deffo isn't the sort of thing I'd usually eat but my mum brought a few jars of pickled recently for Xmas but she opened this red cabbage early to try because we'd not had this brand before. I think it's mega tangy and too much for me to be eating out of the jar like my dad does but a few bits on a cheese sandwich is lovely! The cabbage is cut into chunky shreds and soaked in vinegar with some spices added. It makes the vinegar taste proper hot and sour to me, when I first opened the jar it made my eyes water! lol I love how crispy the cabbage is and also how good the pickling vinegar goes well with it, the vinegar has got to be good though because you can't hardly taste the cabbage under it so it's a good job it's got such a yummy crunch to it. It's easy to drain the vinegar off the cabbage but you have to watch that you don't splash yourself because the cabbage has made the vinegar go pink and it stains. Like I said, picked cabbage is nice to add to a cheese sandwich because it gives it a nice flavour. I reckon this one would go nice with boring ham as well because the tang of the vinegar is wicked and so yummy. I never thought I'd say I like pickled cabbage because I'm not even that mad keen on the cooked stuff! lol This jar was about £1.30 and is well worth that because the flavour is delish and you only need a bit with each meal so the jar will keep for ages in the fridge.
