Advantages: cheap

Disadvantages: tastes horrible

I first decided to buy this soup when I was fed up of taking sandwiches to work, I scoured the shelves and went straight to Heinz as this is the only brand a new much about.

The can looks quite appetising, you can't really miss them as they are bright red coloured and has the flavour of the soup printed on the front and then a picture of the ingredient underneath

In this case, I picked up cream of soup, it looks very nice with a picture of slices of chicken on the front, I am not a big eater of vegetables, so this seemed to suit me as I love chicken.

So I then look on the back at the nutritional information,

Tin size = 400g

On reflection, calorie wise, roughly 200cal for the tin, which is not bad and hopefully, would fill me more than a packet of crisps!

To heat the soup you can either do it an microwave or on the hob, as I was at work I chose to do it in the microwave, cook for 1 min, stir, hen heat for another min. A word of caution is to make sure you cover it with a place or something otherwise it will explode in your microwave. If you are doing it on the hob, boil at a low temperature otherwise it is likely to stick to the pan.

Once it was heated throughout, now came the taste test, looking at it, I was already put off a bit, it looked very bland, it looked very thick and gloopy.

I am disappointed to say, the taste reflected this, it was edible but tasted very bland and boring. There was no real chicken flavour to it, and there were the tiniest bits of chicken floating about in the soup.

The tin itself was about 60p which was good value, but unfortunately it didn't taste very nice so the price is irrelevant.

I now make my own which costs much less to make, but tastes a million times better, and I will never buy tinned soup again!

Summary: one to avoid for me
