Heinz Salad Cream

Heinz Salad Cream is a condiment that is generally assosiated with summer and salads. It is used in a similar way to mayonaise. It has been around forever and its poularity never seems to reduce. The product is availble in a wide variety of sizes and bottles, ranging from glass to plastics and small to catering size. On average it costs around £1.29 for a 260g bottle.

What is sald cream-
Salad Cream has many ingredients but is made mainly from Water, Vinegar, Vegetable Oil, Egg Yolks and mustard. I actually can beelive it contains mustard as you certainly cant taste it.
The product can be stored in the cupbaord until opened and then it must be refrigarated. Salad Cream can be quite high in calories and fat so there is now an Extra Light variety available. The Extra Light contains just 28kcals and 1.4grams of fat per 20g serving in comparison to the standard which contains almost double this.

Salad Cream for me is best eaten with salads. It gives a great taste to fresh cut vegetables. It is also a great altenative to mayonaise to mix through Tuna/Salmon or pasta or on sandwhiches

What does it taste like?
This is a difficult it tastes like a creamy, vinegary sauce with a slight sharpness to it.
